Global Pro Bono Hub
Developing a world-class pro bono hub

The challenge
The Australian Pro Bono Centre set out to create a first-of-its-kind global pro bono hub — a dynamic platform to house curated pro bono news, resources, events and opportunities.
The aim was to develop a global ‘community of practice’ where legal professionals and pro bono providers can exchange ideas, collaborate and drive meaningful change.
Project strategy
- We began the project with an in-depth discovery phase, conducting market research, stakeholder interviews and user testing, to ensure the content hub would deliver maximum value.
- Insights from the discovery phase shaped the site’s navigation structure and content planning wireframes. Every element was tested and refined based on further feedback by stakeholders.

Design for engagement
- The platform required a bold and cohesive brand identity. We developed a style guide for the site, defining the brand’s identity, colour palette, typography, iconography and key design elements.
- Multiple creative concepts were explored, fine-tuned and optimized for clarity and impact.

Bringing the vision to life
- Once the design had been finalised, the site was custom coded to prioritise streamlined content updates, using modular frameworks for the tagging of organisations, topics and regions.
- Client teams were trained on content update steps in the new CMS.

The result
The Global Pro Bono Hub launched to overwhelmingly positive reception from global law firms and pro bono legal providers.
More than just a content hub, it has become a network for global pro bono collaboration — continuing to evolve with new functionality, expanded partnerships and growing support from funders.
